Bobby Fischer Bolsters Lead
New York (CP) — Bobby Fischer, 15-year-old American titleholder from New York, bolstered his lead in the United States chess championship by defeating Raymond Weinstein of New York Monday. This gave Fischer a 6-2 record. He is undefeated so far but has drawn four matches.

Chess Wizard, 15, Hikes Lead
NEW YORK (AP)—Bobby Fischer, 15-year-old titleholder from New York, bolstered his lead yesterday in the national chess championships by defeating Raymond Weinstein of New York in 58 moves of the completion of an adjourned match.
This gave the boy wonder a 6-2 record. He is undefeated so far. He has drawn in four matches. Two draws count as one loss.
While Fischer won, his closest contenders, Larry Evans and former champion Samuel Reshevsky of New York, were held to draws. Evans and Reshevsky are tied for second with 5-3 records.
Reshevsky drew with Edmar Mednis, a New York University student, in 57 moves. Evans was held to a draw by Charles Kalme of Philadelphia in 45 moves.
In other matches William Lombardy of New York won over Weinstein in 40 moves, and Paul Benko of New York drew with Donald Byrne of New York in 46 moves.
