International Team Tourney
At Munich on Sept. 29 to Oct. 23 the International Team Tourney gets into play with the nations represented by six-man teams. The Russians are sending a power hours; two world champions, Botvinnik and Smyslov, their National champ Tal, former world challenger Bronstein, and Petrosian, who placed third in the recent Interzonal.
THE AMERICAN team will include Reshevsky, Bisguier, Evans, Lombardy and Robert Byrne. Grandmaster Robert Fischer will not be able to accept an invitation to play. He is several weeks behind now in starting classes at Erasmus Hall High School, Brooklyn. The American team has a much tougher problem than defeating the Russians before they leave—how to raise $6,000 for expenses.
