Chess Challengers' Round Entrants for 1959 Named
The list of entrants for the Challengers' Round to be played in 1959 has been published.
Besides the six top ratings in the recent Interzonal — Robert Fischer, Pal Benko, Mikhail Tal, Tigran Petrosian, Svetozar Gligoric, Fridrik Olafsson — there are the winner, Vassily Smyslov and the runner-up, Paul Keres, of the last Challengers' Round who are seeded.
Pal Benko, who made it one jump ahead of the Russian tanks in the recent aggression against Hungary, is making Cleveland his new home. America therefore will be represented by two entrants in the great tourney.
